Bodycam vs Unrecord

Quick answer

Want to play a body-cam shooter this weekend? That is Bodycam (Steam Early Access, multiplayer). Excited by a narrative single-player body-cam experience? That is Unrecord — announced, no public release date, nothing to buy yet.

  • Bodycam: Reissad Studio, Steam Early Access since June 7, 2024, multiplayer-focused (DM / TDM / Wingman 2v2).
  • Unrecord: announced story-driven single-player body-cam game; store availability and date are not published here — follow its official channels.
  • They barely compete: one is a live multiplayer sandbox, the other a scripted narrative experience.

What Bodycam costs →

Both games share the body-camera fantasy, but they are at completely different stages: Bodycam is buyable and playable today in Steam Early Access; Unrecord is an announced single-player project you can only wishlist and wait for. This page keeps to what each store page actually shows.

  • Different genres wearing the same camera: multiplayer CQB sandbox vs narrative single-player.
  • Bodycam you can buy and play now; Unrecord has no release date you can plan around.
  • Bodycam's loop: camera weight, lethal close range, loadouts, RP progression, Wingman competitive play.
  • Unrecord's appeal: one continuous body-cam perspective in a story context — details belong to its developer.
  • This wiki tracks Bodycam only; for Unrecord news, use its official store / social pages.

What Bodycam is today

A playable Unreal Engine 5 body-cam shooter in Early Access on Steam (app 2406770). You get Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch for casual warm-ups, the Wingman 2v2 bomb mode as the competitive core, a hub with a shooting range, a loadout system with roughly 400 attachments covered in our update notes, and maps like Trenches. Reviews sat Very Positive recently (87% of 8,293) as of Sep 5, 2026, with the usual EA caveats about polish and shifting systems.

What Unrecord is (and is not)

Unrecord went viral for its trailers: a first-person body-cam presentation wrapped around a tactical narrative. What it is not — as of this writing — is something you can purchase or play: there is no release date you can book time off for, and this wiki will not invent one. Treat every gameplay clip as vertical-slice showcase material until the developer ships a store page you can buy from, and get dates from its official channels only.

Which one should you follow?

If your itch is 'I want to play a body-cam shooter now with friends', Bodycam is the only option of the two — see the beginner guide for a first-night plan and system requirements before buying. If your itch is 'I want a tense single-player body-cam story', wishlist Unrecord on its official store presence and wait; buying Bodycam will not scratch that itch, because its design centers multiplayer fights, not narrative pacing.

There is no platform conflict either: Bodycam is PC-only today (see console status), and platform plans for Unrecord belong to its developer. The two projects can both succeed — the body-cam niche is big enough for a live multiplayer sandbox and a scripted single-player thriller to coexist.
